Energy Development
Energy development is a regional and national priority and the MonDak region is uniquely positioned as key player in building a bridge to our energy future.

The MonDak Energy Alliance is the catalyst for developing the vision and moving the region forward, realizing the full potential of energy development in the area. The Alliance fills this role by:
  • Communicating the Vision
  • Facilitating Communication
  • Conducting Meetings and Networking

The MonDak Energy Alliance includes the geography of eastern Montana and western North Dakota and is intended to leverage the resources, businesses and politics of the two states to build our energy future.

Accomplishments & Initiatives
The Alliance has grown from the seed of an idea to a key catalyst for energy development in the MonDak region. Below is a list of several of the key accomplishments and initiatives including past presentations.

Communication and Connection
It cannot be overstated the importance of the communication and networking that has revolved around the MonDak Energy Alliance activities. In the first three years of the organization, community leaders, economic developers, state officials and private sector business leaders have connected, shared ideas, developed plans and have broken ground on energy development projects in the MonDak region.

Energy Complex and Refinery
Energy Development and Co-Location Study

One of the early initiatives for the Alliance and several members was a feasibility study for the co-location of multiple energy related facilities in a single location in the MonDak Region. The study was accomplished and a presentation of the results is available below.

Multi-User Railport
MonDak Energy Alliance activities have helped bring private sector parties together that has culminated in the announcement of a multi-user railport facility to be constructed, owned, and operated by Savage Companies. The site was secured in cooperation with Yellowstone Ethanol, an Alliance member.
